How to make cute animal soap molds with a vacuum former

Create adorable animal-shaped soaps that will capture everyone's heart using soap molds made with a vacuum former.

Everyone loves soaps in special shapes and sizes! And if you make your own soap, then a vacuum former can really help you add that personal touch.

Watch the video below to learn how we made cute animal moulds for soap. In this example we used 3D printed shapes, but you can also use other materials like clay, plaster or wood to create your own favourite shapes for vacuum forming.

We use TPU sheets as the material for our soap mould, because it is quite flexible. This makes it easier to take out the soaps once they have cured.

  • Download the STL files from the link above and print them with your 3D printer. You will need to set a 1.5 mm shell with 20% infill.
  • Place the mould on the forming bed and use a 1.0 mm TPU sheet to form the soap moulds.
  • Clean the formed TPU sheet before you start using it to pour soap.
  • Please be careful and use the necessary precautions and protection when making soap
  • Pour the pre-prepared soap material into your mould.
  • Let the soap cure (this can take 4 to 6 weeks depending on the recipe) and when it is ready, take out the finished animal soap.
